LV does not need to be active for the screen to act as a trackpad input for focus point selection so it is possible on a DSLR as Nikon has demonstrated. Right eye on the EVF and limiting to the right side of the LCD makes it an awesome feature IMO.īut with 6D2 you can't look through the OVF in LV so it would only be in LV looking at the rear screen and this is possible as there is touch AF.not what you wanted though? I did find that switching to using my right eye (versus my normal left eye) made it a lot better. This allows you not to have to move your thumb into your nose. You can have it just be the top right corner or the entire right edge. The smart thing they did is allow you to limit the active area. I wish you hadn't mentioned this, now it will probably happen to me. I have big thumbs.they get stuck in my nose moving the focus point that way Like moving the Multi-selector closer to ones nose. It is faster for me than the joystick on my 7D II. You can change which part of the screen is active and whether it acts a direct position correlation or swipe to move relative to the current position. I switched focus eye from left to right to make it more practical. I use it constantly on my M5, it is excellent for me but maybe not everyone would like it. This would be a smart move for Canon to adopt, further merging the best features of mirrorless and DSLR.Īre you sure?
